A reflective piece about the deep snow you could get in the Midlands which I experienced as a child, in the 1970's.

I always loved the quiet it brought from the incessant noise that was our everyday soundscape, created by the dual carriageway outside our house and how the Juggernauts were slowed to a slushy crawl, the stillness of the night, punctuated by the soft sounds drifting from the slowed traffic from the nearby M6 motorway, the scraping of the pavements and the snowball fights and sledging down the hills.
